Hubby Loom Knitting

This is my hubby Phil looming a toddler hat for me. He is such a sweetie!

Another Hat

I loomed this blue hat yesterday. I turned out really good. It seems that most of the hats I am doing are for girls. I am going to have to get more boy hats done.
I am working on finishing a HOT PINK hat and Phil(hubby) is working on a pretty black multi-colored hat. I am trying to do at least one hat a day so we can take a bunch to St. Jude soon.

Ashley is my model again. Excuse the red eyes. I didn't have time to fix them. :)

Charity Group for NE MS

I have only been looming for two weeks but I am really excited about the possibilities. I was thinking of forming a charity group in our area. A couple days ago I met Robin who lives about 15 minutes away. She had also been wanting to start a charity group. I am so excited to meet her and know there is someone else who wants to loom for charity. Of course we need more people than just me and her. We will take anyone who can sew, crochet, loom, knit, etc. Once we decide on a name(oh boy that is a hard one) I will get a website created for it. So far I have contacted LeBonheur(they need blankets) and St. Jude(they need hats and blankets). I have also emailed some of the social workers at NMMC and I am waiting to hear back from them. I am really excited about all the people that we can help.

If you live in Northeast MS and you can help please email me. Also, if you know of any charities in NE MS that we can help please let me know.

Help me find a name for my charity group

I live in Northeast Mississippi and I want to start a charity group. The group will make items for the newborn to the elderly. I have been trying to come up with a clever name but I can't. I would love ideas from all of you. Thanks in advance!

Play Games and Earn Cash

I found this great program today called Moola. You play games and earn cash. I love the hi-lo game. Give it a try.

Child & Baby Hat

I made this child's and baby(or baby doll) hat yesterday. They turned out great. I used Red Heart Kids 2973 jump. It took one skein to make both of them.

Yarn Spree

I got a $15 Hobby Lobby GC, $25 Wal-Mart GC, and $30 in cash as part of my Christmas so I went to town today! I got 41 skeins of YARN and didn't even spend all my Christmas money and GC's! This plus what I already have should keep me busy for a while. I am going to start on an afghan today that I saw in the small KK booklet.

Yummy Pretzels

These pretzels are so easy to make and they taste great.

Ingredients:

1 bag small pretzels
2 bags Rolo's

On a cookie sheet put the pretzels with a Rolo on top of each one. Cook on 300 degrees for a few minutes until Rolo is soft. Take out of oven and press the Rolo down on the pretzel. Then sprinkle pecans on top.

Enjoy!

Cute Hat for Ashley

Well after I got the premie hat under my belt I made a toddler size hat. Today I decided to make Ashley a hat. She likes it and I think it turned out pretty good. I am going to make her a matching scarf but I am having a time learning how to use the long looms.

A Young Man Wise Beyond His Years

A remarkable phone call from a 12-yr old boy to Houston radio station KSBJ FM 89.3 . So profound, the station has it posted on their website. Click below to listen to it. It's short.

My First Looming Project

I have always wanted to learn how to crochet or knit. I was searching on Google a few days ago and found looming. I read all I could find and watched a lot of video's. I thought I might could do this so I went to Hobby Lobby and bought a loom set. I came home and started on my first project(the premie hat). It took about two hours to complete it. I think it came out pretty good. I am now working a larger hat for my daughter.

My 14 and 11 year old daughters kept trying to steal my looms so I went back to Hobby Lobby and bought them both their own loom sets.

Please take a look at my photo's to see my first creation.
